2009 Activites

Monthly Health Screenings: Screenings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month (unless date is close to holiday) from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at the h2u Center. A complimentary continental breakfast is included.  Routine screenings include blood pressure checks, glucose testing (blood sugar levels), PSA, and lipid profile. h2u members may have a lipid profile once a year and male members may have a PSA done annually. Blood pressure and glucose may be done monthly.  In addition to the routine screenings, various other screenings are offered throughout the year. Free flu and pneumonia shots are offered during the fall and early winter months. Reservations for the screenings are required. Please call Med Line at 1-800-242-5662 to reserve your place.

General h2u Meetings: General meetings are normally held the second Monday of each month. Check your newsletter for exact dates, times, and locations. Meetings usually include food, announcements, and a speaker and/or entertainment. Meal costs are minimal (between $3.00 and $10.00) and vary from month to month depending on location and type of meal provided. Reservations for the meetings are required.  Please call Med Line at 1-800-242-5662 to reserve your place.

Exercise Classes:  Morning classes are held MWTh from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at the h2u Center. Afternoon classes are held T&Th from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the Center. Cost is $10.00 monthly for unlimited classes.  Dottie Holland is the instructor for all classes.

Tai Chi: Tai Chi classes are held each Monday and Wednesday at the Center from 8:50 – 9:30 a.m. First two classes are free as part of your membership. Cost is $20.00 per month for all classes. Sam Smith is the instructor.

Line Dancing: Line Dancing classes are held every Thursday from 5:45pm – 6:45pm. Cost is $2.00 every class you attend. The instructor is Cindy Cossey. New dancers are welcome and encouraged.

Games, Cards, and Dominoes: This fun group enjoys game afternoon each Friday at 1:00 at the h2u Center. 

Bingo: Join us for bingo the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month at 2pm. Bingo cards are $2.00 each. Prizes are $5.00 for a regular bingo and $10.00 for coveralls. No reservation required. Bring your money, and lady luck just might be with you.

Bunko: The third Wed. of every month Bunko is enjoyed at the h2u Center at 4:30pm.

Book Club: Meets the third Tuesday of the month at 1:30 at the h2u Center. Drop in any time.
 
Arts and Crafts: This group meets the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 at the h2u Center. No reservation required. Come and join the fun.
